The Pioneers' Culture Center is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) incorporated in the state of Missouri in 2000.  Our mission is to provide quality social, cultural, and educational enrichment programs to children and families in the city of St. Louis, Missouri.

GOALS

In addition to being a model community, the goals of the Pioneers' Culture Center are to assist the ministry of Imam W. D. Mohammed, spokesman of the largest Muslim community in America, by teaching, mentoring and providing social and cultural programs for people living in the immediate community and the community at-large. 

ABOUT ISLAM

• "Islam" is derived from the Arabic word for "peace" and submission" which is "salema".  The Arabic word "Salaam" or "Peace" also comes from the same root. The literal meaning of Islam is ''enter into the peace that comes from submitting your whole self to G-d."
• Followers of Islam are called Muslims
• Allah literally means means "The G-d" in Arabic (The article "Al" means "The" and "Lah" means"G-d") .
• Muslims are monotheists believing in one G-d.
  The Holy Book of Islam is the Quran, which was revealed to Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, over 1400 years ago.
• Many people associate Islam with the Middle East. However, only 20% of the Muslim population is from the Middle East. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, including the United States. It is the way of life for 1.3 billion people in every part of the world, from nearly every nationality, language and ethnic background.

    The 5 pillars of Islam:
    1. There is only ONE God, and Muhammad is his Prophet and Messenger
    2. The establishment of prayer 5 times a day
    3. Charity to the poor
    4. Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in your lifetime, if possible
    5. Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan
